Account controls
Delete your Owefolk account.
Owefolk is published by Hartmann Studios. You can delete your account and its associated data at any time. Deletion is permanent: after it completes, you cannot sign back in and your personal profile data cannot be restored.
How to request account deletion
Option 1 — From the Android app (fastest)
- Open the Owefolk app on your Android device.
- Open the Profile screen.
- Tap Delete account.
- Review the confirmation dialog, then tap Delete permanently.
Deletion starts immediately and is typically completed within minutes.
Option 2 — Can't access the app? Use this form
If you no longer have access to the app, submit your account email below. Hartmann Studios verifies ownership before processing, then deletes the account for you.
Your email and details are encrypted before storage. The public service never stores them in plaintext.
What gets deleted
When your account is deleted, the following personal data is removed:
- Your account profile (name, initials, avatar color, app settings, and privacy choices)
- Your sign-in credentials and linked Google sign-in
- Your email address stored with your account
- Device notification tokens
- Your payment preference and payment handle
- Your group memberships, invitations you created, and personal dashboard cache
What is kept, and for how long
- Shared group history (kept, anonymized): expenses, split allocations, settlements, and activity that your group members still need are retained so their ledgers stay accurate. Your personal details are replaced with "Deleted member" and stay anonymized for as long as the group exists.
- Web deletion requests (kept temporarily): the email and details you submit are encrypted, kept only as long as needed to verify and complete your request, and then deleted. Only a keyed digest is retained afterwards to prevent duplicate requests.
- Diagnostics and analytics (kept, non-personal): aggregated app analytics events are designed not to include your personal data, expense amounts, or names, and are retained in line with Google Analytics policy.
