Effective 7 May 2026 · Last updated 7 May 2026

Jury Simulator runs trials on your device. Most of what you do in the app — your voir dire answers, the conversations you have with jurors, your notes, your votes — never leaves your phone. This page explains the few exceptions and exactly what happens to that data.

What stays on your device

All trial dialogue is generated locally by an on-device model. That means:

What does leave your device

Model download

On first launch the app downloads the AI model (~3.65 GB) over HTTPS from a public model host (Google AI Edge). This is a one-time download. We do not run a server in the middle — the request goes directly from your device to the host.

AdMob ads

The app shows banner and occasional interstitial ads via Google AdMob to cover hosting costs. AdMob may collect:

This data is governed by Google's Ads & Privacy Policy. You can limit personalized ads at any time in your Android device settings under Privacy → Ads → Reset advertising ID or Opt out of Ads Personalization. Jury Simulator will keep working — you'll just see less-relevant ads.

What we don't do

Children

Jury Simulator depicts criminal trials and is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has been served personalized ads, you can disable ad personalization at the OS level (above) or uninstall the app.

Changes to this policy

If we ever start collecting more data — for example, adding crash reporting — this page will be updated and the effective date above will change. The version of this policy that ships with each release is also archived in the public source repository.
