Pantry Tracker is live on Google Play: scan it, date it, never waste it
Pantry Tracker, a free offline-first pantry and expiry tracker for Android, is now on Google Play. Barcode scan, use-in-3-days alerts, a shopping list that restocks the pantry, no account.
Pantry Tracker, a new Android app from Hartmann Studios, is now live on Google Play. It is an offline-first pantry and expiry tracker: you add groceries, it tells you what to use before it goes bad.
What it does
- Barcode scan, free forever. Scanning runs on your phone. Product names are looked up on Open Food Facts, and you always confirm them. You can also add items by hand.
- Expiry alerts that read like a person. "Use in 3 days", "expires tomorrow", "expired yesterday". You choose 1, 3 or 7 days' notice.
- An expiring-soon widget on your home screen.
- Fridge, freezer and pantry locations, with quantities and units.
- A shopping list that restocks the pantry. Suggestions come from low-stock and expiring items. Tick what you bought and it goes back into the pantry.
Pro features
- Receipt import. Take a photo of a receipt (or pick one). Text recognition on your phone proposes the items, and you edit and approve every line.
- Household sharing. Send your pantry to family phones as a file through any app and merge theirs back. The newest edit of each item wins, and deletions carry over.
Private by design
There is no account, and your pantry lives on your phone. Barcode lookups send only the barcode number. Household sharing only happens when you send a file yourself; it never goes through a server. Receipt photos are read on your phone and never uploaded.
In your language
Pick your language on first launch. The app translates its screens on your phone (the language pack downloads once, then works offline), and you can change it any time in Settings.
The free version has a small banner ad; Pro removes it.
