Privacy Policy – Homelab the Right Way
What this site and the Homelab the Right Way newsletter collect (very little), and what we never do with it.
Effective November 2, 2026. This policy covers the Homelab the Right Way website at https://chartmann1590.github.io/homelab-the-right-way/, the Homelab the Right Way newsletter, and the Homelab the Right Way app that schedules the brand's own posts to its social accounts (including Pinterest). "We" means Homelab the Right Way, run by Charles Hartmann.
The short version
- This is a static blog. There are no accounts, logins or comments on this site.
- We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.
- The only personal information we keep is your email address, and only if you sign up for the newsletter.
What we collect
Reading the site
The site is plain HTML hosted on GitHub Pages. We do not run analytics or tracking cookies of our own. Like any web host, GitHub may log technical details of each request (such as IP address and browser type) to run and protect its service; see the GitHub Privacy Statement.
Newsletter
If you sign up for the weekly email, your email address is stored by our newsletter provider, Buttondown, which sends the emails for us. Signing up takes a confirmation click, and every email has a one-click unsubscribe link. We use your address only to send the newsletter and never share it with anyone else. To have it deleted, unsubscribe or email us.
Embedded content and ads
Some pages embed YouTube videos (using YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode) and may show a small ad from the A-ADS network. These services load from their own servers and follow their own privacy policies.
Affiliate links
Some links go to Amazon. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. If you click one, Amazon may set cookies to credit the referral; that is handled by Amazon under its privacy notice. Purchases from our ebook store are handled by Payhip, and from our merch store by Printful, under their own policies.
Our social media scheduling app (including Pinterest)
We use a self-hosted scheduler to publish Homelab the Right Way's own posts and Pins to our own accounts. It connects only to accounts we own. Access tokens are stored on our own private server and are not shared. The app does not collect, store or analyze data about other Pinterest users, and it does not sell or share any data received from Pinterest. You can ask us to stop at any time by emailing us.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
