These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Shape & Shade: Face Shape app ("Shape & Shade", "the app") published by Hartmann Studios ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the app you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. Our Privacy Policy explains how the app handles information.

1. The app

Shape & Shade uses your phone's camera, or a photo you choose, to map points on your face on your device, estimate your face shape from measurements, and, with Pro, suggest a color season and palette. It also offers style guides, a live color drape, a glasses try-on and saved scans.

3. Eligibility

The app is intended for users aged 16 and older. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the app only with the permission of a parent or guardian, who is responsible for your purchases.

4. Your photos

Use only photos of yourself, or of people who have agreed to it. Your photos are processed on your device and remain yours; we do not receive them and claim no rights in them. You are responsible for anything you choose to share from the app.

5. Pro, subscriptions and purchases

• Pro features are available as an auto-renewing subscription or as a one-time lifetime purchase, sold through Google Play. Prices are shown in Google Play before you buy and may vary by country.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. You can cancel at any time in the Google Play Store app → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals; Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
• A free trial, when offered, is for new subscribers. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you are charged through Google Play.
• The lifetime purchase unlocks Pro for as long as the app is offered, on devices using the same Google account. Use Restore purchases in Settings on a new device.
• Payments, renewals and refunds are handled by Google Play under Google Play's refund policies.

6. Ads

The free version shows ads from Google AdMob, as described in the Privacy Policy. Optional rewarded ads may unlock a Pro guide for a limited time.

7. Acceptable use

Don't use the app to harass, shame or rate other people, to analyze people without their consent, or for anything unlawful. Don't reverse engineer, resell or redistribute the app except as the law allows.

8. Third-party components

The app uses Google's MediaPipe libraries and models (Apache 2.0 license), the Google Mobile Ads SDK and Google Play Billing. These are provided by Google under their own terms.

9. Changes and availability

We may update, change or stop offering features of the app. We may update these Terms; the new version will be posted on this page with a new date, and continuing to use the app after that means you accept it.

10. Disclaimer

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Hartmann Studios is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for decisions you make based on the app's results. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
