FAQ

Questions, answered

Is it free?

Wild Lens is free to download. It shows ads from Google AdMob and has two optional extras: Remove Ads (a one-time purchase) and Wild Lens VIP (a subscription: no ads, a daily gift of FILM, double FILM from every photo and mission, the Gold Lens and a red bandana for Pip). The whole story can be finished without either.

Is it pay-to-win?

No. The whole story is free to finish. FILM is earned by taking photos and finishing missions, and nothing you can buy makes the guards easier or the animals tamer.

Where do ads show up?

One banner on the title screen, never during play. A full-screen ad can appear between missions, never in your first two missions, at most every other mission and at least three minutes apart, and never during a mission or a story scene. Rewarded ads are always your choice. Remove Ads turns off the banner and the between-mission ads.

Do I need an internet connection or an account?

No account, ever. The story plays on your phone without a connection. Ads and the optional purchases need a connection when they appear, but the game itself does not.

Is it violent?

No gore and no hunting: your camera is your main tool. Later in the story the rangers hand you tranquilliser darts: darted guards fall asleep and the rangers arrest them. The poachers are the bad guys, and the animals are the ones you rescue.

Who is it for?

Anyone who likes nature, adventure and a bit of sneaking around. It is not designed for young children.

What phones does it run on?

Android phones. Low, Medium and High graphics settings (or automatic) let it run smoothly on older phones and look its best on newer ones.

Where are my photos and progress saved?

Only on your phone. Your photo album, progress and settings live in the game’s own storage. There is no cloud save. NEW GAME on the title screen starts the story over, and uninstalling deletes everything. Remove Ads and Wild Lens VIP are tied to your Google Play account and can be restored.

Which languages?

English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Russian, Turkish, Indonesian and Hindi.

How do I report a bug or suggest an idea?

Open an issue on our GitHub page. There are templates for bug reports, ideas and privacy questions.
