Terms of Service
These terms apply to your use of the Fieldkey: Plant Rock Coin ID Android app ("Fieldkey", "the app") published by Hartmann Studios ("we", "us"). By using the app, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
1. What the app does
Fieldkey suggests what a plant, rock, mineral, gemstone or US coin in a photo is likely to be, using models that run on your phone. Each result shows a confidence score and other possible matches. Results are best guesses: they can be wrong, and the app never claims certainty.
2. Not advice
- Plants: safety and toxicity information in the app is general information only. It is not medical, veterinary, agricultural or foraging advice. Never eat, touch, or give to a pet any plant or mushroom based on an app. If someone may have been poisoned, contact a doctor, a vet or poison control right away.
- Coins: any value shown is an estimated range, not an appraisal or an offer. Condition, varieties, authenticity and market prices change real values. Check a reputable dealer before you buy or sell.
- Rocks and minerals: identifications are not a gemological certificate or a guarantee of authenticity or value.
You are responsible for decisions you make using the app.
3. Free version, Pro and purchases
- The free version includes 3 identifications a day. You can choose to watch a rewarded video ad to get one more. The free version shows ads.
- Pro gives unlimited identifications, no ads and collection export. It is offered as a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription with a 3-day free trial for eligible new subscribers, or a one-time lifetime purchase.
- All purchases are made through Google Play and are subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel any time in the Google Play Store app; cancelling stops the next renewal. If you cancel during the free trial, you won't be charged.
- Refunds are handled under Google Play's refund policies.
- Prices are shown in Google Play before you buy and may change; a price change for an existing subscription follows Google Play's rules.
4. Your content
Photos, finds and notes you create stay on your phone and remain yours. We don't receive them. If you share a find card, you are responsible for what you share and where.
5. Acceptable use
Don't use the app in a way that breaks the law, harms others or damages property, and don't try to reverse engineer, resell or misuse the app except as the law allows. Respect private property, protected areas and collecting rules when looking for plants, rocks or coins.
6. Third-party services and components
The app uses Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) for ads in the free version and Google Play Billing for purchases; these are governed by Google's own terms and policies. The app includes a plant classifier from Google's AIY project (Apache 2.0) and models we trained on openly licensed photos. Credits and licenses are listed on our credits page, and a full attribution list ships in the app.
7. No warranty
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including accuracy of identifications, values or safety information, to the fullest extent allowed by law.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Hartmann Studios is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from reliance on an identification, a value estimate or safety information. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited.
9. Age
The app is intended for users aged 13 and older.
